Carob is the healthy alternative to chocolate.
It is naturally sweet and contains no caffeine therefore safe for kids, during pregnancy and for those with high blood pressure. Very high in minerals and antioxidants such as Calcium, Phosporus, Vitamin E.
The flavour is very similar to chocolate, except it is naturally sweet.
This makes a perfect post-workout snack as it is high in Potassium which can help prevent muscle cramps and aid recovery.
- 1 Banana
- 1 tbsp carob powder
- 1 dried fig or date
- 1 tbsp flax or chia seed
- 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 1 scoop of natural vanilla protein powder (I like Bareblends)
- 200ml water
- few ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a high power blender and blend for 30-45 seconds.
