We, humans, were built by the foods that sustain us.
By providing nourishment to function, heal and procreate, the right foods also expanded our brain capacity and with it our intellect, raising our self-awareness and our abilities.
Roll on thousands of years and while our anatomy and our genes have barely changed, the world we live in and the food we consume has undergone a radical shift.
Junk food abounds, sugar-rich options are rife and the old-school reliance on real foods seems to have disappeared.
With refined meats, highly processed dairy, artificial additives, preservatives and foods (I say that loosely) that no longer come from nature, our illness rates are soaring along with our waistlines…
Yet in this story lies the answer.
The simple steps to a healthy food plan
Food should be simple and that’s the first piece of advice I want to share with you.
Fresh fruit and vegetables. Grilled organic meats and wild fish. A splash of spices and a sprinkle of herbs.

Organic fruits and vegetables are packed with vitamins, minerals, fibre, phytochemicals, and antioxidants.
These nutrients enable us to grow, heal, thrive.
They protect our gut by helping the healthy microbiota to flourish and keeping the opportunistic and harmful bugs under control…
They are involved in the thousands of chemical reactions and processes required to sustain life…
Catch a cold? Cut yourself? Become overwhelmed with stress?
These nutrients are there working in the background to bring you back to health.
Grass-fed, organic meats
Organic meats provide energy and the protein to grow and heal.
Protein helps you to repair and is required for enzyme production, hormone creation, and as a building block for your hair, skin and musculoskeletal system
Then there are its other nutrients including fat, iron, and vitamin B12.
Wild caught fish
Wild caught fish is one of the best sources of the healthy omega 3 fat that we need for brain, nervous system and cell wall function.
Wonderful for reducing unhealthy levels of inflammation and improving insulin sensitivity, omega 3 fats can fight depression and anxiety, promote better brain health, reduce asthma and even protect us from illnesses like cancer and heart disease.
Herbs and spices
Adding herbs and spices to your diet is a delicious way to enhance your health…
