10 Top Signs You Could Have a Leaky Gut

Do you suffer from chronic diarrhea or constipation, bloating or brain fog, exhaustion, cravings, or mental health challenges?

Surprisingly, these seemingly unrelated issues could be linked to your gut.

How?

Through a common, overlooked digestive issue called a leaky gut.

A leaky what?

Our digestive system has key responsibilities, ranging from the ingestion and break down of foods, to the absorption of nutrients, and the passage and removal of toxins through elimination.

But while the wall of our digestive tract serves these important functions there is a possible weak point, so to speak.

See, we can think of our gut wall as being lined like a floor is with tiles.

Each tile represents a cell, with the spaces between filled with a kind of grout known as intercellular tight junctions.

This biological grout, however, is partially permeable…

When we are healthy, the key nutrients and water that are required on the other side of the wall are allowed through as the permeable living grout opens to allow their passage.

This is an important way for nutrients to pass from our gut and into our body where they are needed.

However with challenges like a poor diet, nutrient deficiencies, gluten and refined sugar consumption, exposure to toxins, and psychological stress, the tight junctions can become loosened and leaky…

That’s why it’s called a leaky gut.

This can allow bacteria and toxins to pass from the protective inner side of the digestive system, where they’d usually be removed by elimination, and into the bloodstream.

As this happens the body identifies these foreign substances as invaders and mounts an immune response: kill!

The result?

Inflammation and toxicity!

And with the mainstream medical field still, for the most part, denying the existence of leaky gut, many of my clients face both digestion-triggered health issues and trouble finding the answers they need to recover.
