Bile is involved in the breakdown and absorption of fats and cholesterol, and despite what you may have been told, these nutrients are very much needed for health.


Carbohydrate metabolism

Your liver stores carbs as glycogen.

When you need a glucose boost to restore healthy blood sugar levels, glycogen is broken down and released, meaning your liver is crucial for healthy energy maintenance.


Vitamin storage

Your liver stores the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, K, as well as B12.

This helps ensure we don’t simply run out.

Blood filtration

Our liver filters out toxins including excess hormones like oestrogen and aldosterone.

I often talk with clients about the health issues that come from oestrogen dominance and how this hormonal imbalance can negatively impact on the ability to achieve and maintain a lean body so a healthy, working liver is key.
