Is your deodorant making you sick?!

We are surrounded by chemicals, heavy metals and parabens all day every day.

Whether we swallow, inhale, wash our hands with them or rub them on our faces hoping to get rid of those wrinkles, they have enormous effects on our health.

These chemicals are directly absorbed by our largest organ, the skin, and over time can contribute to health problems.

Antiperspirants work by blocking the pores that release sweat under your arms, with the active ingredient being aluminum.

This does not only block one of your major detoxification routes (getting rid of toxins via sweat), but increases your chances of metals such as aluminum getting absorbed through your skin, by rolling or spraying it on.

Aluminum is a neurotoxin, not normally present in the body, and it is widely associated with Cancer, and Altzheimers’s disease. It has been found in high concentrations in the brains of those suffering from Altzheimer’s disease.

Because antiperspirants are used on your armpit, the highest concentration is found in the breast tissue, which clearly indicates

that aluminum gets absorbed through your antiperspirant. You should definitely stay away from them!

Deodorants slightly differ from antiperspirants, as they only deodorize the sweat, not actually stop you from sweating, which is important because sweating out unwanted toxins is vital for healthy body function.

To avoid health issues it is important that your deodorant does NOT contain Parabens, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Silicones, Propylene Glycol, Mineral Oils, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates, Chemical Sunscreens, or Aluminum.

Okay okay you get it…they are bad for you and you want to switch out your chemical-filled antiperspirant, but all the natural ones you tried from health food stores were awful and left you smelling like B.O.

I’ve had the same issue, and I tried many products on the market, disappointment after disappointment until I found ONE!

La Vanila is my favourite by far that is available today. In the USA you can grab it from any Sephora, and thanks to ebay and online shopping you can easily get it shipped to Australia or any other country. It is slightly more expensive than your normal pharmacy brand, but it works and lasts longer so trust me it’s worth it!

I have to remind you that this deodorant is not gonna stop you from sweating! It might take you a little while to get used to it. My trick for the summer time: I apply La Vanila, and I add a few dashes of baby powder on top! Double proof to stop you from feeling uncomfortable. Give it a go!

Or if you want to be really hardcore, you can try mixing a pinch of bicarb soda/baking soda with water, put it in a spray bottle and spray away…
